2012 Doomsday

December 21, 2012 is the doomsday many scholars, ancient civilizations, prophets and even some scientist predict the end of the earth.  There are hundreds of websites that portray world ending theories such as meteors, nuclear wars, solar flares and many other catastrophic events.

A number of these supposed doomsday occurrences have been dis-proven by many astronomers and scientists, mainly due to how close we are to 2012.  Common sense rules out a number of these events, such as meteors and solar flares that could potentially harm human existence.  To be quite honest, we would know by now if a meteor the size to eliminate life was on it’s way to planet Earth.

Nuclear war is a different story that nobody can predict, however, the likelihood of this occurring on December 21, 2012 is highly unlikely.  As we get closer to 2012, we will have a better understanding of the current world state.  (I am sure this short paragraph about nuclear war will expand as we get closer to 2012)

Most doomsday theories can be discredited and there are others that are unpredictable.
